On Easter morning, Iris woke up to an Easter basket by her bedroom door. She actually was not very interested in it, and we really had to try to coax her into looking out what was inside.
She got an Easter dress, some yummy Annie's bunny-shaped crackers, a solid dark chocolate bunny, Annie's bunny-shaped macaroni, Clementine oranges, play-doh, bubbles, and a coloring notepad.
Since we have morning church, and Shaun and I both have busy on Sunday mornings (On Easter Sunday, I was teaching the Easter themed lesson in primary, it was fun, but did not go over quite how I planned. oh well! ) we postponed our traditional Easter waffle breakfast and had it for lunch after church instead. We made honey bran wheat waffles, and have them with fresh strawberries and bananas and yogurt. Super yummy! Iris loved the waffles too. They were really hearty, also super-healthy.
We had Easter dinner with my brother and sister who live here in town with us. We had chicken-avocado salad pita sandwiches, carrots, grapes, mint lemonade, and then homemade angel food cake with strawberries for dessert.
It was a wonderful day, and a great way to celebrate our Savior, and remember him, His atonement, and his resurrection.
