There's a really great family in our local church congregation. When we first moved into the neighborhood they were quick to befriend us. They had a baby boy within days of our son's birth, and when they heard about our situation (with how suddenly things happened) they quickly brought us baby formula, clothes and blankets that they assured us they didn't need. I'm sure they could've used those things, but they were happy to share with us. It was touching. They're such a lovely family.
Recently this lovely family has received news that the mom's cancer has returned (she had cancer previously when pregnant with their first son, who's not much older than Bean). My heart aches for them. It's the sort of situation that no one would want to be in.
That being said, I know we all want to be there for others in their times of need. If you'd like to help the family from our church congregation, you can donate here or find out about a race being held for them here.
